"Three kids, including Ethan Hawke as Ben (the dreamer of the group) and River
Phoenix (the mini-Egon of the group), build an inertial-free energy sphere,
using circuit plans Ben saw in a dream and an Apple II computer. Yeah, I know
it seems a little cheesy, but it was all they had to work with. Heck, in 1985
the idea that a kid could have an Apple II all his own was pretty cool. Ben
and Co. quickly turn their little discovery into a vehicle basically they
build a really wild pod using an old Tilt-a-Whirl seat and some scrap metal,
and then generate the sphere around it. They can then move anywhere they
want."
